The Original Northwest Route
This is the journey that inspired everything we do.
Designed for riders who want to experience the real Northwest of Vietnam, this 8-day adventure follows quiet back roads, hidden mountain passes, and remote valleys far from the usual tourist routes. From the vibrant villages of Mai Chau to the highlands of Moc Chau, the terraced landscapes of Mu Cang Chai, the historic city of Dien Bien Phu, and the peaceful mountains along the Laos border, every day reveals a different side of this remarkable region.
More than just a motorcycle tour, this is a journey through authentic rural Vietnam. We ride among rice terraces, fruit farms, tea plantations, and traditional villages where life has changed little over the years. We meet the welcoming Thai people, soak in natural hot springs, enjoy local food, and spend our evenings in places full of character and hospitality.
The roads are what make this tour special. Instead of rushing from one famous destination to another, we spend most of our time on scenic back roads chosen for their riding quality, beautiful landscapes, and genuine local atmosphere. Expect winding mountain roads, quiet valleys, spectacular viewpoints, and countless moments that remind you why you ride.
If you're looking for an authentic motorcycle adventure that combines breathtaking scenery, rewarding roads, rich culture, and the true spirit of Northwest Vietnam, this is the ride that started it all.
Our adventure begins as we leave the busy streets of Hanoi and get our first taste of Vietnamese traffic before heading into the peaceful countryside. The ride follows scenic midland roads, passing small towns, farms, and green valleys as the landscape slowly changes from the Red River Delta to the mountains.
By the afternoon, we arrive in Mai Chau, home to the Thai ethnic people. Its traditional stilt houses, rice fields, and welcoming villages have made it a favorite stop for travelers from around the world. Although tourism has brought a lively atmosphere, Mai Chau has managed to keep its authentic charm, making it the perfect place to begin our journey through Northwest Vietnam.
Today we leave the popular tourist route behind and follow quiet back roads through the buffer zone between Mai Chau and the Moc Chau Highlands. This hidden area is a mix of gentle valleys, farms, limestone hills, and small villages where daily life moves at its own pace. It is a peaceful ride with very little traffic, giving us plenty of chances to enjoy the scenery and meet the local people.
One of the highlights of the day is crossing the Da River by the Van Yen ferry, a short but memorable break before continuing our journey.
